How to choose a phone case

Start with your exact model. Cases are made for one phone model, and even phones from the same year differ: an iPhone 17 case will not fit an iPhone 17 Pro Max or 17 Air. Check Settings > General > About on iPhone or Settings > About phone on Android if you're not sure.

Then pick your level of OtterBox protection:

  • Defender and Defender Pro: OtterBox's most protective multi-layer cases, built for job sites, kids and outdoor use.
  • Commuter: two-layer drop protection in a slimmer profile that slides into a pocket.
  • Symmetry: slim one-piece cases, including clear versions that show off your phone's colour.
  • Strada and Folio: folio-style cases with a cover that protects the screen.

Check for MagSafe. If you use MagSafe chargers, wallets or car mounts with an iPhone, choose a case labelled MagSafe so the magnets stay strong through the case.

Should I get a screen protector too?
